Dustin Laich

Helping people is one of the primary goals in my life. At Houston Center for Christian Counseling, I have the opportunity to come alongside individuals and assist in the various struggles of life. While most of my past experience has been working with adult psychiatric and chemical dependency clients in an inpatient setting, I also enjoy helping those with depression, anxiety, problems with coping skills, parenting troubles, marital difficulties, sexual addiction, and self-esteem issues. I also have extensive experience and truly get excited about working with today’s youth.

It is my belief that emotional and psychological dilemmas stem from living in a fallen world. When sin entered the world through Adam and Eve, God’s original design for humanity was lost. And I believe that life is a constant journey to God’s original design. It is my pleasure to join people in this process and lend a hand in their journey. Change takes place during this process as Romans 12:2 states, we are transformed by the renewing of our minds.”

During my education and through experiences in my life, I have learned the art of integrating my own personal style and abilities into various methods, mainly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, although I am familiar with many theories and enjoy learning and practicing the assortment of techniques available. I seek to meet clients where they are in life and form a relationship that strives to attain their unique goals.

In 2002, I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design and practiced this art for about 15 years. Then God led me out of the marketing world and into the counseling field.

I married the love of my life and best friend in 2001 and have five amazing and very active children.
