I believe God has created each person with a desired plan and yearns to reveal it to each of us (Proverbs 3:5-6). My desire is to come alongside my clients to help each person fulfill the plan that God has for them. I strive to provide practical strategies that are manageable to implement and improve overall well-being. I believe the purpose of counseling is to help us turn to God in our time of great need and allow Him to be our Helper as we implement sound clinical skills with grounded Biblical principles.

Anxiety, depression, anger, chronic stress, fears, and PTSD are some of my  specialties. It is also a  desire of mine to come alongside women pastors, pastors’ wives, and women in leadership.

I feel called by God to come alongside those who are dealing with betrayal trauma and have had rigorous training to help the partner deal with  this trauma after learning of the betrayal. I have been equipped to provide tools to the betrayed partner that gives hope and healing. I also counsel those who have been battling sexual addiction and desire to recover. I have received training in Early Recovery Couple Empathy Model (ERCEM), which offers relational counseling to the couple struggling to communicate following the discovery and full disclosure of the partner’s sexual addictions. This specifically developed counseling, is cutting edge and provides a transformative method to aid the couple’s interactions between one another and provides them with the proper tools to relate to each other effectively. 

I have been trained in Cognitive Trauma Therapy with clients who have experienced trauma and PTSD and witnessed great improvement. Additionally, I also have advanced training in EMDR and find it extremely helpful in working through trauma. I am trained in Prepare-Enrich for couple’s therapy and have witnessed “aha” moments as the couple becomes aware of new ways of responding and communicating with one another. I utilize DBT with clients who struggle with Emotional Dysregulation.

Everyone has a story. My passion is to come alongside, hear your unique story, and provide a safe and caring environment to work through your struggles. I also have a passion for adults who have special challenges and for the parents of these special individuals. Our middle son was diagnosed in third grade with Tourette’s Syndrome and OCD. I believe God used our son’s diagnosis to call me to help parents who have a child with special challenges…ADHD, ADD, Autism, OCD, Tourette’s Syndrome, and others.

I have a B.A. in Christian Ministries and am an ordained minister. I received my M.A. in Christian Counseling from Houston Baptist University.

I have been married since 1982. We have three adult sons who are all working in their individual professions. I enjoy spending time with my husband, taking trips with my family. I love to sing praises to God and love music from various genres.
