I consider it a great joy to journey with clients on paths to freedom and understanding. I have a heart for children, teenagers, and adults, as well as couples and families as I walk beside them and help them along their journey. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their concerns, discover their strengths, and work toward lasting change. I have a deep appreciation for the diversity of experiences and backgrounds that shape each individual, and I draw inspiration from the stories of reconciliation and redemption that I witness in my work and in my own life. Whether you are seeking help for personal issues, relationship challenges, or family dynamics, I am here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.
My therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in the integration of data-backed processes and informed by a Christian perspective. I am trained in Integrated Systemic Therapy (IST), and my practice is informed by various other approaches such as Bowenian Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and the Gottman Method. I believe in the importance of understanding the broader context of one's life, including family dynamics and generational patterns, to foster healing and growth. I am committed to meeting my clients where they are in life and supporting them in a way that fosters growth in their personal, relational, and spiritual development.
I hold a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA, and a M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University’s Family Institute in Chicago, Illinois. My education and training have equipped me with a solid foundation in both the scientific and relational aspects of therapy. I am a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy and the Christian Association for Psychological Studies, organizations that underscore my commitment to professional excellence and ethical practice.
On a personal note, I am happily married to my beautiful wife, a native Houstonian, and we are active members of our church community. In my free time I enjoy hiking, fly fishing, and anything that gets me moving. For a number of summers during my college years, I was a counselor at Pine Cove, a Christian summer camp. While at Pine Cove, I served as a counselor, Program Director and completed The Forge program
