Hi friend! It is so nice to “meet” you! God designed us to be in community with one another and share in both the challenges and triumphs that life can bring. I find great joy in walking with others through their journeys and championing them towards healing. My ultimate goal is to create a space where you feel safe and comfortable to experience your feelings and life challenges at your own pace while also facilitating deep reflection and positive change. We will work together to understand how your past has shaped you and how to work towards the life God has called you to. Counseling is a collaborative journey, so my commitment to you is to be present and prepared, and I ask that my clients give their best to the therapeutic process. I consider it an honor for you to trust me to walk with you through life’s greatest difficulties.
I treat clients aged twelve and above. I have worked in both a college counseling and integrated healthcare setting. I have experience and passion for treating young adults and couples as well as concerns such as life transitions, pre-marital counseling, interpersonal relationship issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, diagnosis processing, and grief/loss by integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) with psychodynamic therapy methods. I hope to get advanced training in the Gottman Method, Prepare and Enrich, and EMDR to further expand my knowledge and training for trauma and couples counseling.
I became a counselor as I have experienced my own healing and change through the therapeutic relationship and Chrisitan faith. I have a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience with a minor in Health and Medical Sciences from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Education in Professional Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Georgia. I am also a member of the American Counseling Association.
When I am not counseling, I enjoy cooking, traveling, reading, exercising, and spending time with my husband and our dog and cat. As I recently moved to Texas, I have loved getting the chance to explore new restaurants and areas of Houston. I am excited for the opportunity to serve a new community!
