Deborah Moncrief

I am a Christian Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Certified Social Worker. I have been counseling since 1985 and have been with HCCC since 1993. I specialize in marriage intensives, which are one day sessions with one couple. This extended time allows for immediate healing restoration and understanding, especially for couples in crisis who want to get a jump start on reconciliation and begin experiencing immediate healing in their relationship. This concentrated approach to marriage counseling provides healing from years of built up hurt. Intensives prepare you for moving forward in your marriage, with skills to successfully resolve conflict and experience trust.

My passion and experience includes helping people in the area of marriage therapy, depression, fear and anxiety issues, anger issues, life disappointments, vocational difficulties, recovery from abusive and dysfunctional relationships, communication problems, divorce, and grief issues.

My compassion is deep for those who are hurting to be comforted and to learn new skills that will help you out of your pain. It has been an honor to work in this field for so many years and to see God’s faithfulness through trials and suffering. It is amazing to see how God works as we seek His wisdom and His ways.

My husband, John, and I have been married since 1981. We are both certified trainers with Intimate Life Ministries and Dynamic Marriage. I am also certified as a Prepare and Enrich Facilitator.

I am the author of The HEAR Process, a book written to help guide us through communication that will bring healing to relationships. I also co-authored the book, Press On … From Mourning to Joy, a workbook dealing with the trauma of grief.
