Life can be complicated at times and often requires someone to walk beside us on this journey. I work to provide a compassionate and safe environment as you work through life’s challenges.
I consider every client encounter an honor.
I believe in meeting a client exactly where they are and offer clients guidance and hope in order to help them adjust to life and the many changes that accompany it. I desire to create a place for those in need of a listening ear and establish genuine connection and support for my clients.
My approach to counseling is to first create a safe environment where you can tell your story, in a nonjudgmental healing environment.
My goal is to provide an atmosphere of safety to navigate and gain freedom from whatever is hindering you from living the life that God has designed for you. I use a variety of theories and orientations to deliver effective treatment tailored to your situation. During counseling, I will walk alongside you and give you tools and direction as an objective person who desires to see you succeed in the life that God has designed for you.
I work with adults and teens dealing with depression, anxiety, and a struggle with loss of identity. I also do a lot of work in the area of trauma and am trained in EMDR therapy, which research has shown is extremely effective in facilitating lasting healing. I have sat with clients who have experienced trauma related to domestic violence, sexual assault, childhood abuse, pregnancy loss, abortion and a host of other struggles that people have encounter.
Other therapeutic approaches I utilize includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Trauma Therapy (CTT), but I also pull from other approaches based on the needs of each client.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Art degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Houston Christian University (formerly Houston Baptist University). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate licensed in the State of Texas.
I am a member of the American Counseling Association.
I have been married since 2018 and have a young daughter who keeps me on my toes! I love reading and traveling when I can.
