Working with adults, couples, and adolescents, I have a passion to see people find hope and healing.  It is important for you as the client to know that I am for you and with you every step of the way. I hope we can work together to help you become all God created you to be, and not only survive, but thrive.  Imagine you have a tool belt with various tools to help you navigate life…counseling is simply the process of helping you add additional tools to your belt so you know how to handle anything that may come your way. Through an integrative approach, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT), and other approaches to help you reach your goals.   I am a Nationally Certified Counselor with advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and The Gottman Couples Therapy approach.  Additionally, I am Prepare/Enrich certified, SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) certified, and have training in the Allender Narrative Therapy approach.  I am a member of the American Counseling Association and the American Association of Christian Counselors.  I work with those who are struggling with issues centered around identity, compulsive and addictive behaviors, depression, anxiety, and adjustment difficulties.  I also work with many pastors, church staff members, and their families.  Additionally, my focus includes trauma and PTSD, physical and sexual abuse, couples issues, men’s issues, unwanted same-sex attraction, and other life struggles. My educational experience is varied including a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, as well as a Master of Arts in Christian Education and Bachelor of Music.  My wife Jill, and I, have been married since 2000, have two children, and a Maltese named Sam.  I look forward to working with you, walking beside you, and doing anything I can to help you heal, move forward, and thrive!
