I consider it a great joy to journey with clients on paths to freedom and understanding. Mary Oliver says, “Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.” I believe light can be found in the darkest of places and am eager to help clients find healing.
I work with individuals ages 12 through adulthood. I offer deep empathy to clients and strive to understand my client’s histories and world views. I am especially interested in serving clients navigating grief/loss, crisis, women’s issues, young adult issues, life transitions, teenage and college years, pregnancy issues, post-abortive care, and eating disorders.
I believe foremost in the power of the therapeutic relationship. After we have established a safe and trusting relationship, we will examine your thought life and how that is impacting your beliefs and behaviors. Together, we will dispel shame and the lies you are believing, with truth and words of life. I view counseling as a holistic process and will remain curious to how your spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical health intertwine. I have specialized training in eating disorders, crisis response, pregnancy issues, post-abortive care, and PREPARE/ENRICH.
I graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Creative Writing. I have a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor.
In my spare time I enjoy serving in youth and college ministry, writing, being outside, and spending time with friends and family. My favorite kind of Saturday always involves a long walk, yoga, or brunch on a Houston patio.
