It takes courage to make this decision. I honor you for your courage. I love music, and right now Matthew West’s song, Broken Things, is playing gently – speaking about the God who loves us all: “It’s never the perfect; it’s always the one with scars that You use…..If it’s true, You use broken things, then here I am Lord, I’m all Yours.”
I believe there is a Superhero inside you, and a God who loves you so deeply and perfectly, He will take whatever you are suffering with, rejoicing over (and anything in between), to make your life a Masterpiece, filled with the Master’s Peace. He is Jehovah Shalom (our Peace), Jehovah Rapha (our Healer), Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Armies), and El Roi (“the God who sees me”). You have been prayed for. Already. And your life can change. Are you ready?
We Are Messengers just began singing “Power.” No joke. The Lord loves you so much, He wants you to know there is Power available to face, and overcome, any challenge – be it physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, relational – you name it!
As for me, I grew up in a family-owned business (bakery!), so I will serve you with a strong work ethic. As a teen, I struggled with Anorexia, Anxiety, and Addiction, as well as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. I am in recovery from all of them, by God’s grace. My career began in Human Resources, transitioned to Christian ministry, and now culminates in Christian counseling, where Christ sets people free (see the Bible, the gospel of John, chapters 8:31-32, 10:10, and 15:4, 9-11).
I married my wonderful husband, Jim, in 1983 while he served in the U.S. Army. Being a military wife made me proud, and it was an honor to participate in a community of soldiers and families on mission together. Jim urged me to go beyond my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Campbell University, 1986), and pursue more. While studying at Asbury Theological Seminary, I fell in love with Counseling, and completed my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology at Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2010. As a lifelong learner, I constantly acquire new skills to offer my clients best practices in mental health.
In the last few lines of Broken Things, Matthew West offers an invitation, and I offer it to you personally: “Grace is a kingdom, with gates open wide, there’s a seat at the table just waiting for you, so come on inside.” Come on in, and begin your adventure in healing, growth, and life-change. God bless you for your courage in reading this right now. There is freedom up ahead. (See 2 Corinthians 3:17.) Let’s go after it together. You are Not Alone. Shalom!
