Hi. I am a Christ-centered therapist. That means I depend upon the love and mercy of God to guide the process of therapy. I have a doctorate and am trained in marriage and family therapy, which means I work with couples and families, but also with individuals, including children and adolescents. In the last twenty years I have worked in a broad range of settings including hospitals, public agencies, churches and in private practice. Specialties are depression, self-esteem issues, relationships, sexual abuse, post-trauma healing, eating disorders, and grief issues.
Persons who seek help are not weak. They have simply encountered a glitch in a normally smooth-running life, or are experiencing debilitating pain from a broken past or relationships. In this case, asking for help is survival strategy. It is a good thing, and signifies strength.
I enjoy meeting with people face-to-face to facilitate growth and healing. Individuals experience all types of brokenness, and no one is pressured to move faster than they desire, only encouraged. It's about life choices. In therapy sessions one is empowered to set goals and seek truth. Truth is where the healing lies. Those who choose to do so can accept the friendship and mentoring of God. He offers peace and direction. If not, it's still okay. You're accepted.
I would be happy to meet you. In the meantime, my hopes and prayers are with you.
