Frances Cook began with HCCC, after thirty years of public school employment. Her alma mater is Stephen F. Austin State University. She completed her bachelors in 1977 and masters in 1982. Her state license and national certification came with experience in the public schools of East Texas and as a counseling intern with a hospital drug rehabilitation center.

She feels confident that God created a multitude of personalities and circumstances to assure us that we are unique, and meant for a special journey in "His" love and care. Frances feels that it is a privilege to be included in her clients' search for a full life in Christ, through God directed choices. Through prayer, planning and self-discipline clients are able to receive the joy that arrives with self actualization.

Frances works with children, adolescents and adults. She feels that counseling for children always involves the family. She is becoming a Registered Play Therapist through the DePelchin Children's Center. She understands that it is the adults who maintain the structure and shape of a child's world of experiences.

Frances also knows that addictions counseling is best facilitated by the support of a Twelve Step Group. Family members are encouraged to investigate Co-Dependents Anonymous for encouragement and support.

She has completed Foster/Adoption licenses training, from the Texas Human Protection Services and is a lay minister with Community of Hope, sponsored by St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital System.
